Excluded are companies operating in controversial business areas. These include weapons and nuclear weapons, power generation from coal, oil or gas, nuclear power, and the production of tobacco products. Companies that violate the US Global Compact or the guidelines of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) are also not considered.
